VIAN ROOS. I am a creative person, who focuses on publication design and photography. I am currently the art director at Farmer’s Weekly magazine, South Africa’s oldest and most respected agricultural magazines. I am responsible for managing and overseeing the design team and its weekly schedule, the magazine’s brand and the general ‘look and feel’ of the print and digital issues. Meeting deadlines, a keen eye for detail and upholding a high quality of work is very important to me and I will take calculated risks in doing so. My part-time lecturer position at Vega School is a reflection of my passion for education and teaching others.

I am also a keen photographer who is inspired by the everyday and ordinary life stories of South Africans. I frequently travel the country, stopping in many of the small towns along the way on the hunt for photographs. My aim is not to style photos, but rather to capture real moments.
